Backend access
Users without backend access
While signing up on datascaphe.com is required for managing the service, it is possible to have users in your organization who use the service through the browser extension without giving them access to the backend area on datascaphe.com.
For this behavior, create users with the backend interface but let the property backend access unchecked.
The backend access can also be granted or removed on the User management page.
Specify the sign-up process behavior
After you have provided your organization information, it is possible to specify if other users from your organization can sign-up on their own. In the organization edit page, two settings impact this behavior:
- Prevent users with org domains to sign-up
- Automatically accept users signing-up with org domains
Prevent users with org domains to sign-up
Specify if users with an email with any of your organization's domains can sign-up to datascaphe.com.
| Value | Description |
|---|---|
| True | Your users will not be able to sign-up on datascaphe.com |
| False | Your users will be able to normally sign-up on datascaphe.com |
Automatically accept users signing-up with org domains
Specify if users with an email with any of your organization's domains can browse the backend area after signing-up.
This setting will be ignored if users are prevented from signing-up on datascaphe.com with the previous setting.
| Value | Description |
|---|---|
| True | Your users will have access to the backend as viewers after signing-up on datascaphe.com |
| False | Your users will not have access to the backend area. A notification will be sent to the administrators to allow or refuse the user access |

Datascaphe user roles
Users on datascaphe.com can have one of three roles:
- Administrator: access to everything
- Developer: can configure report and embedding behavior
- Viewer: can only use the extension and view some pages of the back-end area
These roles apply to the back-end area.
Viewers can do all actions in the web browser extension (refresh local data, enable/disable analyses...).
